The Alumni Board of Directors at the time decided that in addition to raising the $1 million for Stetson, to build the house, we would raise an additional $500,000 that Stetson would invest for us. The expected investment return would generate about $30,000 annually for the Alumni Association, in addition to our alumni dues. These extremely bold plans were orchestrated by then Board President, brother Dave Schofield, who in time shifted the alumni presidency over to his righthand man, Richard Swartz. Richard was a tireless worker who deserves much of the credit of turning this plan into reality.
Unfortunately, on 7/28/19, Richard didn’t survive quadruple bypass surgery. The name of our then unfunded $500,000 fund was quickly changed to the Richard Swartz Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni Association General-Purpose Quasi-Endowment Fund. This fund is 100% controlled by your Alumni Association, of which you are a member. The funds can be used for additional assistance to actives in need, enhancements to the house, or any other purpose approved by the Alumni Board.
WE ARE PROUD AND PLEASED TO SAY THAT, AS OF THE LAUNCH OF THIS SITE IN LATE AUGUST 2020, WE ARE ON THE THRESHOLD OF MEETING OUR GOAL OF $500.000 RAISED. IF YOU WISH TO BE A PART OF THIS HISTORIC EFFORT, PLEASE GO TO MAKE A GIFT TO CONTRIBUTE AND JOIN YOUR BROTHERS.
ALL FUTURE GIFTS AND PLEDGES WILL BECOME PART OF THIS FUND. THE LIST OF CONTRIBUTORS WILL BE UPDATED MONTHLY.
