ALUMNI BOARD

The Board oversees and makes decisions on chapter business, manages finances within the alumni ranks, works as an overseeing,  advisory and support body for the Alumni Chapter.

The organization, dedication and wherewithal of Zeta Tau’s Alumni Association is rather unique among Stetson Greek organizations.  The alumni chapter assists the active chapter in a number of ways, including scholarships for dues, initiation fees, hardships, school needs, fixtures for the house, assisting actives with travel and expenses to national fraternity seminars, general assemblies, and other such needs.

This is done in addition to the alumni chapter subsidizing any Homecoming and other event expenses, along with such projects as this Website and Membership Database.

ZTZ Alumni Association, with the assistance of the ZT Active Chapter, plans and produces Lambda Chi Alpha Homecoming each year. Lambda Chi consistently attracts back to campus the highest numbers of Greek alumni and guests to celebrate out great fraternity. The chapter usually wins the Alumni Participation Award given by Stetson Alumni and Parental Engagement.

PLANNING

One of main functions of the Alumni Association has been that of PLANNING. Each year the Alumni Association schedules and conducts a yearly Business Meeting in the Chapter Room at The House. In previous years, in the absence of a new house, meetings were held in the Garden Room adjacent to The Commons, or in convention tents during Homecoming. Agendas centered on planning and raising funds for our New House.

Now, with the blessings and convenience that our new house affords, we meet in the Chapter Room on Saturday mornings of Homecoming, and conduct whatever business is on the agenda for the full LCAAA. During the rest of the year, the 15-member Alumni Board schedules Zoom calls and also does business through email communication and text messages. We communicate quite fluidly and as often as it takes to keep any business items up to date and moving.

Brothers are encouraged to consider volunteering time and energy by serving on the Alumni Board. If you are are interested, have time and a passion to serve and contribute, please contact one of the alumni board members, whose contact info appears in the linked Full Roster above..

It’s really interesting and noteworthy that so many Zeta Tau Lambda Chi Alpha brothers continue to take an interest and be involved in our chapter, after so many years. Many of our active alums are in their 70’s, 60’s and 50’s. This is a testament to just how important and valuable their fraternal experience is to them, the meaning it has to them, and how they continue to keep active their communication and relationships with their brothers. It also bears credence to the very real concept that Lambda Chi Alpha represents ‘A Lifetime of True Brotherhood’.
